The department is commited to being a department of choice. All students who are admitted in the Institute must learn some form of computer literacy irrespective of their area of specialization. The department is also commited to serve the entire institute in the matters related to ICT.
The department also maintains the Local Area Network (LAN) and a wireless network to enhance internet connectivity. It also supports other departments in the College in their communication and ICT integration needs. ICT equipment such as laptops and LCD projectors are available for borrowing by the lecturers for use in class.

The department has excellent infrastructure with four fully equipped computer laboratories. Internet services are readily available to students at the resource C/entre and WiFi at selected points in the institute.
Teaching services are offered by lecturers employed by Public Service Commission and Part Time Lecturers when need arises.
